Keeping your office floor clean is not something that you can do in a
short span of time using an ordinary mop and broom. For this, you need to make
use of industrial floor cleaning machines. The trick now is knowing which is
the right floor cleaning machine for you.
Sweepers vs. Scrubbers
There are generally two types of machines that you need to know of when
it comes to cleaning your floor – the sweeper and the scrubber. The scrubber is
typically used when dealing with debris and dirt stuck on the floor. It can
also be used when dealing with grease and floor marks. On the other hand, a
sweeper is generally used when dealing with light dust and debris.
Both sweepers and scrubbers come in two designs – ride-on and
walk-behind. As the name implies, ride-on sweepers and scrubbers allow the
operator to sit on top of the machine in order to operate it. This is as
opposed to the operator walking behind the machine as in the case of the
walk-behind scrubber and sweeper.
Sweepers are further divided into two groups –
vacuum sweeper and broom sweeper. The vacuum sweeper is typically recommended
for light yet bulky dirt such as dead leaves and pieces of paper. This sweeper
makes use of the suction power of the vacuum to pick up the debris. A broom
sweeper, on the other hand, is recommended for heavier debris. They usually
feature a vacuum as well as a filter system that control the flow of dust. The
vacuum system on this type, however, is not very powerful and is not designed
to essentially pick up dust.
